This course can be used as:

  • a self-assessment program that potential expatriates can take to decide if moving to Israel will work for them and their families
  • a full cross-cultural course that offers expats and business leaders information they need to understand in order to succeed in Israel

So --

  • Are you moving to Israel?
  • Planning on working and living in Israel?
  • Maybe you are visiting Israel on a business trip or thinking about establishing business relations with Israeli companies?
  • Working as an independent coach, consultant and/or trainer with people who need information on Israel? License information for this course is here.

Whatever reasons you have for traveling to Israel you must be wondering about life in Israel, its people, the Israeli business etiquette and how well would you adjust to the Israeli culture?

Culture is often viewed as an iceberg. A small part of the iceberg is visible and can be taught quite easily: the way people are dressed, the language they speak and the way they greet each other. But the majority is hidden: thoughts, beliefs, values and assumptions. The hidden part of the culture is usually what causes the intercultural differences that you encounter.

Being aware of the unique cultural aspects of Israel, understanding how to manage the intercultural differences, and knowing how to act in delicate situations can break or make your business relations and your life as an expatriate in Israel.

So, wouldn’t it be great if someone can help you navigate inside the Israeli culture maze, someone who knows the ins and outs of Israel Culture?

You have come to the right place.

My name is Sharon Gilor. I am an Israeli and have worked and lived as an expat kid and an expat adult in the U.S.A, Venezuela, Canada and now Belgium. I am also the founder of Expats Moving and Relocation website - the place where new and vetran expats find guidance and advice about moving and relocating overseas.

Each time I returned to Israel I experienced a culture shock. It took me some time and efforts to adjust to Israel culture and to the hectic way of life Israeli tend to lead.  Through my own culture shock experience I am able to understand the stress, frustration, and in many cases even the anger at the effects that living in Israel is producing on expatriates.

Having the benefit of truly knowing Israel culture and also seeing it from the point of view of an outsider, made me realize that I could help expatriates and their families who are moving to Israel, to settle into the Israeli life style quickly and with minimum pain. This is why I joined forces with Margarita Gokun Silver from the Global Coach Center and together we created the “Welcome to living in Israel” course — the course that:

  • provides you with a foundation of what Israel is all about;
  • helps you understand the gap between your way of thinking and the Israeli way of thinking;
  • provides extensive tools to negotiate the difference; and
  • blends cross-cultural information with a coaching approach to understanding and becoming successful in any culture.

WE OFTEN GET ASKED: why would I buy this course if I can find information on the internet for free?

Two reasons:

I. If you simply want to learn about the do's and don'ts of the country, you can, in fact, buy a book or search through a variety of internet resources.  However, if you want to know how to successfully interact with people; if you want to learn what motivates them; if you want to learn how to manage them effectively; if you want to learn how to communicate and how not to communicate -- you need to know their prevalent cultural blueprint. And you need to know your own cultural blueprint. Both will become clear to you as you test yourself through our course's 11 cultural variables and then compare your score with that of the country you are going to.  This is the kind of information that's not available on the internet.

II. Once you know your cultural blueprint and their cultural blueprint -- and once you compare the two -- you will discover gaps.  Our course teaches you how to negotiate those gaps with the use of Culture Mastery Process that's based on:

  • the co-active coaching model
  • the neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) tools
  • the systems and relationship approach

You won't find that on the internet either.

This “WELCOME TO LIVING IN ISRAEL” course consists of eight (8) chapters of information, a video file, and two audio podcasts:

  • Audio 1 and Chapter 1:  Managing Culture Shock

A unique approach to handling culture shock in any situation.  Three handy tools to carry with you whenever you move and go through another transition.

  • Chapter 2 (Video): Israel Culture

A video-presentation featuring photos from all over Israel, accompanied by a recording that will tell you about Israel Culture.

  • Chapter 3: Israeli proverbs

Country’s proverbs can tell a lot about the country.  This chapter contains proverbs that will help you understand Israel.

  • Chapter 4: Israeli Corporate Culture

Doing business in Israel?  Managing staff?  If you are going to work in Israel, you’d want to familiarize yourself with what to expect when doing business with the Israelis. Israelis have their own and unique business style affecting decision-making, the way they conduct meetings and their working style.

  • Chapter 5: Culture Mastery -- Your Cultural Blueprint

Learn about your own cultural preferences.  How do you compare to the Israelis within the eleven (11) cultural variables?

  • Chapter 6: The Israeli Cultural Blueprint

Learn about the Israeli cultural variables.  How wide is the gap between you and them?

  • Chapter 7: Culture Mastery -- Adjusting Your Cultural Habits

Manage the gap you discovered in the previous chapter.  Enjoy the variety of coaching and training exercises to close the gap and, thus, become more effective when living in Israel.

  • Chapter 8: Culture Mastery -- Cultural Negotiation

Excellent tools for those gaps that are not easy to close!

This is a wealth of information! And it’s available to you anytime, anywhere and for the fraction of the cost.

Cross-Cultural training is usually expensive — it can run anywhere between $500 and $2000 dollars — and that’s why most of the time your company would have to provide it.  Yet companies often decide to economize on this part of the expense and very few expats get the benefit of a real cross-cultural training.

Business travelers and companies doing business with Israel almost never get the benefit of a cross-cultural training.  Yet this training is essential to their success.

That's why we have created this online course and that's why we are making it affordable.  The training we are offering you on-line is available for $199.  This includes FREE short e-mail consultations with the course creators in the first 30 days after purchasing the course.
