...“But what can I do? It’s the culture. Everyone is like that here.”

And most people continue with business-as-usual – blaming the rapidly accumulating stress onto differences in culture, while not really being sure how to address these differences.

 

The Culture Mastery 4 C's Process™ Program has been specifically designed to help you address the differences and frustrations through the 4 C’s process™ that builds your intercultural competence.

WHAT IS THE 4 C’s PROCESS™ AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

Our ability to build culture mastery doesn’t rest only on knowing about another culture, but also on our ability to appreciate what values, dreams, habits and behaviors affect that culture.

Culture consists of many things.  It encompasses tangible elements such as food, language, customs, religion, and dress as well as intangible elements such as values, beliefs and traditions.  These intangible elements are often full with emotions.  The emotional component frequently gets overlooked in most models and most informational cultural presentations – but that’s the one that is the most critical when you get to the gist of succeeding in another culture.

This emotional undertow often makes changing culture a struggle and will define how difficult or easy it’s going to be for anyone to adjust to the habits and behaviors of the new culture.  This 4 C’s Process™ of the Culture Mastery program helps individuals understand the “why” of their emotional response to working and/or living in another culture – and provides them with tools to become emotionally intelligent and competent when working across cultures.

The 4 C’s are:

4Cs

C – CALCULATE. The first step in the Culture Mastery 4 C’s Process™ is an assessment-type indicator.  Individuals calculate their preferences within 11 cultural variables and thus learn their own Cultural Blueprint. They are then able compare it with the Cultural Blueprints of their co-workers/staff/clients/ partners from other countries/cultures and calculate the gaps between the preferences.

C – CHOOSE. In the second step of Culture Mastery 4 C’s Process™ individuals are guided through the process of choosing their negotiable and non-negotiable cultural variables.  They are offered the tools to make that choice from the perspective of their values/dreams/beliefs vs. habits/talents/skills.  This distinction allows them to understand which culture-specific behaviors they can adjust.

C – CHANGE. In the third step of Culture Mastery 4 C’s Process™ individuals learn the skill of changing their cultural attitudes and behaviors when dealing with a different culture and their negotiable variables.

C – CREATE. In the fourth step of Culture Mastery 4 C’s Process™ individuals learn the tools of creating cultural alliances for those cultural variables that are non-negotiable.

HOW IS CULTURE MASTERY 4 C's PROCESS™ PROGRAM DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS?

 

The Culture Mastery 4 C's Process™ is a four step cross-cultural coaching program -- complete with an assessment and a clear step-by-step process that builds upon this assessment.

 

It provides you with a clear roadmap and hands-on exercises that help make an adaptive change -- the hardest change to make in cross-cultural contexts.  Our assessment is an indicator of preferences and, unlike many other assessments out there, doesn't pigeonhole you in a box.  It serves as a snapshot in time of your cultural preferences and as a lanching pad for the cross-cultural coaching/training methodology of the 4C's™.

 

Other stand-alone assessments can lead to stereotypes and misunderstandings because they don't bring you into the relationship with your preferences and values.  The assessment from the Culture Mastery 4 C's Process™ is followed-up by the 4C's™ methodology that develops your culture-emotion intelligence.

HOW DO I TAKE THIS PROGRAM?

 

You can choose from two options:


Arrow_redOption I: An individual coaching program with a licensed Culture Mastery coach. The program consists of 3 to 9 sessions (45 min each) conducted over the phone/Skype.  You work with your coach to --

  • Learn your Cultural Blueprint and how it compares to the blueprint of the people you are working with (First C: CALCULATE - assessment step)
  • Understand which parts of your Cultural Blueprint can be adjusted to be more effective across cultures (Second C: CHOOSE)
  • Adopt new habits and behaviors through the process of cultural adjustment (Third C: CHANGE)
  • Zero in on parts of your Cultural Blueprint that cannot be adjusted and work to create cultural alliances (Fourth C: CREATE)

If you choose this option you receive individual attention and support throughout the entire process.  The cost of this option is $997 for 3 individual coaching sessions.
