If you could have a GUIDE that will help you figure out your NEXT STEPS ,

what would that be worth to you?

Recently I had a chance to run a workshop for expat women on what's NEXT for them. All seventeen participants were at the point of their lives when they began to look for a new meaning to their identity and their professional journeys.

Here are some of the reasons they joined the workshop:

Arrow_red_curved

My children are older and I have time for myself but I am not sure what I want to do.

Arrow_red_curved

I have a sense of dissatisfaction with life because I don't know where I am going.

Arrow_red_curved

I left my career long ago and I am not sure if I want to go back.

Arrow_red_curved

I want to return to my professional life, but I don't know where to start.

Arrow_red_curved

I want to start in a new field, but I am not sure if I can do it.

After repatriation I feel completely lost. What and where is my place now?

Everyone is doing something meaningful around me and I feel like I am contributing nothing.

Have you felt any of the above recently? If you have, it’s a sign that it's time for the #Re-Discover #Re-Create #Re-Join process.

WHAT IS THIS #RE-DISCOVER #RE-CREATE #RE-JOIN PROCESS ALL ABOUT?

The idea of a #Re-Discover #Re-Create #Re-Join process came to me as I realized that my role was changing. After years of spending a large chunk of my day caring for my daughter I was beginning to notice that she needed me less and less. She was growing up and that meant that my nurturing didn’t take as much time as before. Hours upon hours suddenly became available to me and I found myself at cross roads. How should I spend them?

  • Invest more time into my part-time business?
  • Go back to full-time?
  • Re-discover the passions I pushed back because of the lack of time/opportunity/potential?
  • Or re-create myself and take a completely different journey?

As I was going through this thinking I realized that other women were going through it too. And since I am an expat woman and I work a lot with expatriate women I’ve noticed it among expatriate women first. Many of them gave up their careers to follow their partners around the world and in addition to nurturing their children, they consistently took care of nurturing their homes—every time they moved—and nurturing all family members going through changes of every move. Once that nurturing stopped either because they returned back home or their children grew up or both, they stopped and realized that with all that effort towards others, they haven’t really catered to themselves. They no longer remembered or knew what they wanted. They didn’t know where to go from here.

And that’s how the #Re-Discover #Re-Create #Re-Join process was born.

Sections 1, 2, and 3:  Start with You

SUCCESS It all begins with you.  Steve jobs said it best: "Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life."  All too often we end up doing what's expected of us and what we think we should do to fit in.  Yet our best music remains deep inside us. Isn't it time you let yours out?

For perhaps the very first time in your life, indulge in thinking just about yourself, about where you are, and how this will influence where you want to be/go. You are your biggest asset.  Invest in yourself.  Re-discover who you were meant to be.

Everything else will follow.

Section 4: Clean House

ThumbsDown

Feelings of self-doubt and guilt often follow us like shadows.  It’s an art and a skill to be able to separate the voice of your inner critic and guilt committee from the voice of you – your wise self.  This module gives you the tools that you can use over and over again to disengage from self-criticism, self-depreciation, guilt, and self-loathing.

Clean your house – send your critic away.  Your journey will be much easier without him/her.

Section 5:  Understand your Motivation and the Role of Money

NetworkingThis section helps you zero in on the motivating factors that call you back into the professional world and understand the role of money in your drive.

  • Why do I want to go back to work?
  • What calls me to start a business?
  • What's motivating me?

Knowing your own intrinsic motivation as well as the effect that money has on that motivation is necessary in this process.

Sections 6 and 7: Plan and Execute

YogaNow it's TIME! Time to put into motion all the ideas, wishes, and discoveries that you've unearthed in previous sections.

  • Where do I start?
  • What's my plan for the next few months?
  • Who will help and what resources will I need?

Your #Re-Discover #Re-Create #Re-Join process is now in full swing.
